Interrogated

"I was just having a little fun." Larce smiled.

"How's that?"

"Did anyone get hurt?"

"It's a serious offense to tamper with the lottery."

"I was not talking about the lottery. I was talking about Joanie." Larce scratched his eyebrow, where he has a scar from a sledding accent.

"How did you do it?"

"That's personal business. I'm not telling you anything about that."

The officer's face blossomed like a rose. He opened his mouth briefly and closed it again. He bit his lip, and started again: "How did you force the lottery results?"

"I believe no one can do that - you saw it on tv just the same as I did."

In the Station

"I was in the bar the first time I saw her. Admittedly, I was a couple beers past a pint so I can't be entirely confident in my memories," Larce said.

"When was that?" the police officer asked while taking notes. The pen cap was thoroughly covered with teeth impressions.

Larce twisted his wrist in the handcuff. "Does this have to be so tight? It's digging in."

"Prove you're not dangerous and I'll think about that."

"How can I prove I'm not dangerous while I'm cuffed to this table locked in an interrogation room within a police station?"

The officer bit down on the pen cap with a crunch of plastic.

"The moment before I might be acting like I might become dangerous is when you'll attack me."

"Exactly."
